Vote For Future

Education is the Key To Success!

Welcome! Thank you for visiting my campaign website. My name is Dr. Julie A. Greenawalt, and I am running for Denton ISD Trustee, Place 3 because I believe every student in our district deserves an education that prepares them not just for graduation, but for a lifetime of success. I’ve spent my career serving families and children, and I’ve seen firsthand the power of a caring community and a robust educational system. Now, I’m asking for your support to bring that commitment and expertise to the Denton ISD Board of Trustees.

The work of a school board trustee is critical to shaping the future of our schools—and by extension, the future of our entire community. With your vote and support, I will strive to enhance academic performance, engage the community, and ensure efficient use of district resources. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, business owner, or community member, your involvement is invaluable. Together, we can create a school system that inspires students, supports educators, and champions innovation.

Below, you will find my vision, my platform, and concrete ways you can help this campaign. I invite you to read on, and I hope you’ll see why I’m the right candidate to serve Denton ISD. I respectfully ask for your vote on May 3, 2025—and for your support today.

Why I'M RUNNING

Education has always been my calling.

As an educator, mentor, and community volunteer, I’ve dedicated my life to helping students realize their fullest potential. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with families from diverse backgrounds, learning that a one-size-fits-all approach rarely works. Our children thrive when they have access to:

denton Texas

A wonderful place

Denton ISD is a wonderful place for our kids to grow and learn, but I believe we can do even better. By running for Trustee, I want to amplify community voices at the district level, streamline our budget so that taxpayer dollars go exactly where they’re needed most, and foster a culture of academic excellence that prepares every student for success after graduation—whether that means college, technical training, or entering the workforce.

Where we need to go

My Vision for Denton ISD

  • Advocate for rigorous and relevant coursework, including STEM programs, arts, career and technical education, and special education services that address every learner’s needs.
  • Prioritize personalized learning strategies that allow students to grow at their own pace, explore areas of interest, and build confidence in their abilities.
  • Support early identification and intervention programs for at-risk students, offering mentorship, tutoring, and flexible scheduling options.
  • Partner with local businesses and higher education institutions to create internship and dual-credit opportunities, ensuring students see a direct path from the classroom to their future goals.
  • Promote a positive school climate by recognizing academic achievements, good behavior, and strong attendance records.
  • Collaborate with community organizations to tackle barriers such as transportation, mental health, or family hardships that can keep students out of the classroom.
  • Encourage meaningful professional development for teachers, including training in modern educational technology, culturally responsive teaching, and innovative instructional methods.
  • Advocate for competitive salaries, mentorship programs, and a positive work environment that values teacher input.
  • Expand access to counseling and mental health resources, ensuring every student feels supported and safe.
  • Strengthen physical education, nutrition, and extracurricular activities to promote overall well-being.
Community Engagement

Schools thrive when communities are involved.

Our district’s success depends on meaningful partnerships between educators, families, local businesses, and civic organizations.

Looking to the Future

My campaign isn’t just about winning a seat—it’s about transforming Denton ISD into a district that sets the bar for educational excellence and community collaboration.
